Give Free Electricity as a Gift to Others

June 28, 2008 by energyigloo

Ever thought about giving free electricity as a gift? What do you get the person who seems to have everything? We all face this problem from time to time and I’ve found the perfect solution.

Being without electricity during a power outage is frustrating. You feel like you should be doing something productive, but instead you’re impatiently waiting for the power to come back on and you’re accomplishing nothing. Wouldn’t it be great if you could change this from a negative occurrence to a positive one? What about doing the same thing for someone else?

This is a real possibility, if you have the necessary items. A friend gave me a power inverter, battery and battery charger as a present and it’s been the best gift I ever received. Every time we have a power outage, I use my power inverter and battery to generate free electricity and I remember the person who gave it to me. It was really a thoughtful gift and one that I use over and over again.

There are many holidays throughout the year. Then, we have birthdays and even anniversaries and we are always trying to find the right gift to give someone. If you are having trouble finding the right gift, then give them the gift of free electricity to use during a power outage. It’s the type of gift that keeps on giving with every use.

You can find everything you need at Energy Igloo. We carry a variety of items and I’m sure you’ll find just what you need. Give someone a gift that they will appreciate and that will remind them of how thoughtful you were with each use.

The Importance of Having Backup Power

June 21, 2008 by energyigloo

As long as the electricity is available, no one thinks much about it. The importance is realized when the power goes out. Whether it’s during the day or at night, electricity keeps our lives in order. It affects our business, our schedule and even our entertainment.

Electricity runs everything in our everyday life. Think about it and you’ll see how much we depend on electricity to keep everything functioning. Gas stations can’t pump gas without it. Businesses have to close because their cash registers won’t work without it, or their computers won’t function. Banks and teller machines can’t function and must close. Restaurants, even fast food restaurants, can’t cook food without it. Our lives almost come to a standstill without electricity.

These are the times when back up electricity is most needed and becomes very important, especially at home. It keeps our lives in order and insures that everything goes on as normal as possible. It’s important to keep our daily schedule and backup electricity can do just that. Without it, our lives are chaos and our day can be ruined or a total loss.

All aspects of our world today depends on having electricity. In our homes, everything we need and enjoy is plugged into a wall socket and requires electricity. Therefore, backup electricity has become a necessity and is no longer a luxury. This is now true for businesses, hospitals and homes.

Now you can get everything you need to have that backup power in one place at energyigloo.com.

Free Electricity Available for Power Outages

June 14, 2008 by energyigloo

By using an AC power inverter and a 12-volt car battery, everyone can have electricity during a power outage. You don’t have to sit in the dark with candles and a flashlight and wait for the power to be restored.

AC power inverters are small enough to make them portable and can provide electricity for anything that you would normally plug into a wall socket. This would include a radio, television, cell phone charger, laptop computer, personal computer or even a lamp. In this age of electronics, the list is endless.  And if you are traveling, we have just the right power inverter to make your trip a pleasant one.  These smaller inverters plug right in to the cigarette lighter in your vehicle and can keep everything you need charged up and ready.

During a power outage, I don’t sit in the dark anymore. I have found a way to have power available with my Free Electricity. At Energy Igloo we have everything you need to keep you in touch and on line with the rest of the world until the power is restored.  We also have what you need to take the electricity with you to places that don’t have power available.

Visit Energy Igloo and make your next power outage or trip a pleasant experience.

Reliable Power With Douglas Guardian Batteries

May 15, 2008 by energyigloo

Our need for batteries continues to grow. We need them for toys, alarm systems, emergency lighting, machine operation, wheelchairs, medical equipment, telecommunications and UPS systems, just to name a few. Energy Igloo features the Douglas Guardian® 12 volt batteries to use with a power inverter. These are great batteries to use for backup electricity, during power outages, or to take with you when regular electricity isn’t available.

The valve regulated, spill-proof construction of the Guardian® line allows trouble-free safe operation in any position. These batteries use state of the art design, high-grade materials and a controlled plate manufacturing process to provide excellent capacity output per cell.

The main features of these 12 volt batteries are:

Maintenance-Free, Spill Resistant Construction - Never need to add water. Battery can be installed in any position without fear of leakage.

Longer Service Life - Heavy-duty lead calcium alloy provides longer life and an extra margin of performance.

Longer Shelf Life - A fully charged battery can be stored up to a year without recharging. (Under normal operating conditions at room temperature).

High Recovery Capacity From Deep Discharge - Special separators, advanced high density plate composition combined with balanced electrolyte have greatly improved recovery time.

No Memory Effect - Delivers full capacity when required whether used in cyclic or stand-by applications.

Wide Operating Temperatures - The Guardian Battery will operate from -40°C (-40°F) to 60°C (140°F) when fully charged.

Fold-Down Suitcase Handle - Handle may be folded in either direction for maximum fit and ease of storage.

These batteries perform well both at low and high temperatures. For maximum life, temperature compensation is recommended when the operating temperature is outside the range of 68° to 77°F (20° to 25°C).

The shelf life is affected by temperature. The lower the storage temperature, the longer the shelf life. A low self-discharge rate (about 3% capacity per month) permits storage of fully charged batteries for up to 1 year at room temperature before charging is required.

Recharge time depends on the current available and the depth of discharge. Recommended charge voltage is - Float Use: 2.25-2.30 Vpc, Cycle Use: 2.40-2.45 Vpc.

If you are in need of a good 12 volt battery, I would highly recommend the batteries featured on the Energy Igloo website.

The Growing Uses of AC Power Inverters

April 17, 2008 by energyigloo

Since starting my website and selling DC to AC power inverters, I’ve learned that there are many other uses for them. They are very popular with boaters, people who have RV’s, campers, long distance travelers and those who use alternative ways of making electricity.

Those who enjoying boating, camping and traveling in RV’s connect them to their vehicle’s battery and use the power inverters as back up electricity. The power inverters change the DC current of their battery into AC current that can power the lights, a television, radio and even appliances. They can enjoy the modern conveniences of home in places where there is no electricity available. They can enjoy being on the water or in a remote location, but it doesn’t keep them from staying in touch with the world around them and using the electrical things they want and need.

People traveling long distances can use smaller power inverters inside their vehicles. These are connected to the cigarette lighter or another charging receptacle and used to recharge batteries for MP3 players, video games, cell phones, cameras or any electronics that require 120 watts or less.

There are also people that make their own electricity. They store the electricity in a battery and then need to convert it AC electricity by using a power inverter. I was contacted by one person who peddles a bicycle and makes his own electricity that way. He has an inverter connected to the battery he is charging and watches a television, that is plugged into the inverter, while he is peddling and charging the battery. Also, people who use solar panels of any size can make electricity and this does save money, but this electricity still has to be converted to be usable.

The one thing I did notice is that not too many people were aware of using the power inverters for a power outage in the home. They probably didn’t think about getting a spare 12 volt battery to keep in the house for emergencies. Most people connect their power inverters to a vehicle’s battery and probably thought it too difficult to run the power into the house. That is why having a spare battery is the perfect solution. You can keep the power inverter and battery together in one place and when an outage occurs, you are ready for it.

Because so many things require electricity or batteries to operate them, the popularity and uses for power inverters will just continue to increase and it wouldn’t surprise me if soon, everyone will own at least one power inverter.

AIMS Pure Sine Wave Inverters Available

March 21, 2008 by energyigloo

Aims has been redesigning their pure sine wave inverters and most of them are now available on the Energy Igloo website. The difference between them is easily seen in the color, size and weight. The new inverters are smaller, lighter and more pleasing to look at. AIMS 600 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Pure sine wave power inverters are much closer to the type of electricity found in your home. When using them, TV monitors will be crystal clear (as good as using city power), and digital clocks will keep time accurately. Also, microwave ovens will heat in normal times.

Depending on the size of inverter you have, there will be from 1 to 4 ac receptacles. The larger the wattage of the inverter, the more ac receptacles. They also have a USB port for plugging in your laptop or PC. During a power outage, this will come in very handy.

Energy Igloo also has a can size modified sine wave inverter for your car. It is the size of a normal soda can and will fit into the cup holder in your car. It is 120 watts and will be able to charge MP3 players, games, cell phones or cameras by using the cigarette lighter in your car. It’s design keeps it from moving around and is perfect for any trip you take.AIMS 120 Watt Can Size Modified Sine Wave Inverter

Be sure to check out the new AIMS products at our website. There will be something there for everyone’s needs.

Energy Igloo Using New Sources

March 5, 2008 by energyigloo

Energy Igloo is now going to be found in new shopping and auction sites.  We have uploaded our inventory on Shopzilla.com and hope this will bring in even more customers.

Our eBay store is really doing well, but the fees do cut into the profits a lot, so we are also using a new auction website called Wensy.com and have a store there as well.  Wensy is a free website with the same setup as eBay and they also use Paypal, which is very helpful.

I hope you’ll come visit our new store and also check us out on Shopzilla.  The Wensy.com store is also named Energy Igloo, which is the same as our eBay store and our website.

Energy Igloo Opens Ebay Store

January 30, 2008 by energyigloo

Energy Igloo has now opened a new Ebay Store to make it easier for customers to find their products.  We are featuring the AC power inverters, 12 volt batteries and battery chargers, same as on our website.

Hopefully, more people will become aware of our message and get prepared for the next power outage coming their way.

During the recent storms in California, we had a couple of power outages and I’m very thankful I had my inverter and battery ready to go to work.  Luckily they only lasted about 1 1/2 hours, but it was still nice to have light and power because they did occur at night.   Day time outages are not as scary as night time outages and it’s comforting to have backup electricity available.

We hope you will visit our new Ebay store and let us help you get prepared for your next power outage.

AIMS Redesigning Pure Sine Wave Inverters

January 7, 2008 by energyigloo

AIMS Power Inverters are in the process of redesigning all of their pure sine wave inverters. The 300 watt pure sine wave inverter is the only one available at this time. The rest of their pure sine wave inverters will be available in February 2008. They also have modified sine wave inverters, digital inverters and inverters with battery chargers available.

We have the 300 watt pure sine wave inverter, the inverter with battery charger and modified sine wave inverters featured on our website. The rest will be added in February as they become available. Even though they are redesigning the pure sine wave inverters, their prices are not changing, which is great for the consumer.

With the recent rash of bad storms hitting the country, now would be a good time to get a power inverter. Power outages happen all year long and alternative electricity is no longer a luxury, but a necessity. Don’t be caught without power when your electricity is shut off. Get prepared now!
